A few weeks ago, we highlighted a very useful new collaboration tool in our Red Hot Tool of the Week email: join.me.
join.me is an online service, provided by LogMeIn, for collaboration, desktop sharing, training and meetings.
When we featured join.me as a Red Hot Tool, we tested it out and loved how quick and easy it was to start a meeting with anyone, from anywhere. It works on any computer with an Internet connection, and there are apps for iPhone, iPad and Andriod.
You can find out more here: https://join.me, and check out join.me on Facebook, too.
What You Can Win
Although the tool is available for free, there is also a Pro version that gives small businesses even more functionality, such as being able to create your own custom meeting URL and screen backgrounds, use meeting scheduling features and manage multiple users.
The folks at join.me have been kind enough to give us three one-year subscriptions for join.me Pro (each subscription is valued at $299) to give away to Bonfire readers. Pretty cool, huh?
How to Enter
To enter the contest, all you need to do is:
- “Like” Small Business Bonfire on Facebook.
- Post a comment on this blog post, letting us know how you would use join.me in your small business.
Entries will be accepted starting today and until May 26. Three lucky winners will be randomly selected on May 26, and announced on the Small Business Bonfire Facebook page.
You only need to enter once, and your entry will be eligible for all three drawings (unless you win, of course!). Read the official rules below, and enter to win today!
Official Rules:
- You are only eligible for the contest if you are 18 or older and live in the U.S. (Sorry to our international readers! If we could include you, we would.).
- Winners will be selected at random.
- Only one entry per person is allowed.
- There are no prize substitutions or cash value option.
- Each winner has five (5) days to contact us to claim the prize. If you don’t contact us within five days, your prize will be given away to another lucky reader.
The Small Business Bonfire is not being compensated in any way for this contest, other than receiving the three annual pro subscriptions for join.me that we are giving away.
You can subscribe to our Red Hot Tool of the Week email by becoming a free Kindling-level member of the Small Business Bonfire community.
As a virtual assistant, I would use the Pro subscription with my clients & other VAs I collaborate with. I’m also kicking around the idea of doing some webinars in the next few months.
First thing, we would cancel our Go To Meeting subscription and we would start using Join Me to do the following:
Close any communication gap with our clients and expand the competitive gap with our competition.
BTW: Win Lose or Draw – GREAT Contest.
We will use the join.me pro, to improve our support, and also to have online screencasts, and to give more oportunities to contact us.
I have a small business/web development business in Cleveland, OH. I used Join.me during the winter months to meet and collaborate with my clients here locally and out-of-state. I also provided online training to them on how to edit their websites, etc. I will continue to use this as it’s become a part of my everyday business activities. It’s easy to use and is very user-friendly to those clients who are not too internet savvy — not a lot of buttons for them to push.
This is a great product.
I would utilize join.me pro for collaboration with business partners, demonstrations & conferences with potential clients & working with designers, software architects, engineers & developers. I’ve used free version of Log Me In as well as Join.Me and love the ease & simplicity of the services they offer.
Thank you!
Liked on FB.
We would use the tool for online product demos.
Love it. Need it. Give me the Pro version please! I work for a startup tech company that would use it to provide amazing service to all of our clients!
I would take skype on my laptop, turn it to face my computer on join.me, create an infinite loop of internet electrons and develop fusion technologies to power my iron man suit.
Just used this join.me to go over a presentation with a client.
I’m even using join.me right now to write this comment–via 3 computers!!!
Don’t believe me?
I created a screencast right here:
you silly skeptic!!! join.me can do anything!

Hello My small consulting firm has delved into training. This tool would allow me to reach a broader audience and offer a varied price treasure by offering online training. Thanks
I do lots of social media training and this tool would make it so much easier!
I’m using join.me as i type this! helping a customer install some drivers and software. This makes it 100 times better than trying to talk the user through it! I hope i can get pro, it would help me out even more! Thanks
As a 100% web-based company we use Join.me for client training and trouble shooting. We also use it for general employee collaboration, as we work from several points around the country. We’re currently getting ready to launch a webinar for continuing education.
The join.me service would be the perfect tool for us to present our company webinars to current clients and also prospects.
This is an excellent tool, and it is wonderful for supporting people while they travel for business. We are rolling out a new system and the Pro versionwould be great for support and training.
I would use this tool for training and sales presentations. I have used the free version and it is wonderful. I haven’t splurged for the pay. Hopefully I will win!!
I create webpages and a lot of customers want something they can do on their own after I have gotten it started. While CMS is perfect for this it still requires a lot of learning for people that aren’t computer savvy. That is where join.me comes in. I can control the customer’s PC from anywhere in the world and talk to them on the conference call.
I have used many remote desktop software and join.me would have to be the best yet. It is easy to start and free conference calling. No other software comes close.
I currently use join.me to support the many joes and small buisnesses that I manage and maintain their IT solutions. Have a pro version would great increase my remoting abilities to help effectively manage time for myself and my clients. Thank you
I already use Join.Me for my small business. Having Join.Me Pro would make life even easier! It’s so much easier for me to teach customers how to better leverage their existing technology when I can connect to their computers to show them exactly what they want to learn. (It also helps me fix my dad’s computer. Anybody else have a not-so-tech-savvy retired parent?) I love Join.Me!
I would use Join.Me Pro for my monthly book club. In my business, I would use it to connect with clients and show them the work I am doing, in real time, but screen sharing.
I would use join.me to help me showcase and collaborate my new application mockups.
Great contest guys :-)
I work for a small family run company. I train clients on our proprietary software program and would love the opportunity to continue training while being able to see the client’s screen. It could turn training into coaching which would undoubtedly have a greater impact on the client’s learning experience. I used your free version last week and was able to conduct a 2 hr training w/no interruption – it was amazing! I’m now using join.me for demos of our programs, and have recently taught our sales team how to use join.me so they can have more interaction with our clients!
I am going to create custom connections for my customers. I hope to win.
The product is great.
Andre.
Join.me rocks and We use it every meeting of our distributed team…unfortunately I am not a Facebook user…so I can’t like them…oh well good luck all…
Using it to connect with clients globally. Now have clients on multiple continents.
Thank you to everyone who entered! Come join us on the Bonfire Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/smallbizbonfire. We’ll be announcing the winners shortly!
Have you found a tool that “tapes” what’s on your desktop while you tape what you’re talking?
I have tried using join.me. It is at par with leading remote support tools like Logmein, GoSupportNow, GoToMyPC etc.
